Red Yoga

In 2024 after two decades as a teacher and student of Ashtanga, Nina Collins opened A Shala Los Angeles (Ashalala), a small yoga school on the ground floor of Red, her vintage clothing warehouse.

As the number of students grew, Nina provided more room by paring down her vintage clothing business. It seemed right to recognize this change in emphasis with a new name for the school: Red Yoga.

Timeless Tradition

The ancient wisdom traditions of India were onto something and at Red Yoga we see them as an essential blueprint for navigating modern day life. Our ethos is anchored in preserving the integrity of traditional yoga lineages.

While our teaching remains loyal to tradition, our community is firmly rooted in the local and creative energy of East Hollywood. We provide a welcoming, laid-back space where our members can gather to move, to study, to connect and to breathe together.

Mentorship

This five month program is geared toward students wanting to deepen their self knowledge of yoga as well as those curious about the idea of teaching.

Over the two semesters we will discuss asana, trishtana, sanskrit counting, chanting, philosophy, hands on adjustments, some basic anatomy, breathing and likely much more based on the natural flow of student questions and curiosity.

Community

East Hollywood’s raw and authentic home for real yoga. We are a community of seekers, movement lovers and everyday neighbors who come together daily to breathe and go inward in a space that lets you be exactly who you are.
